There is no denying that technology has become the great re-uniter of the 21st century. On daily basis I discover connections to what once seemed impossible. I love a how we can use the power of technology to become a better world. The endless wish lists, the speculations, the semi-educated guessing of what will soon be available all over the interwebs.
But what I really love about technology is how vastly different the internet has become for different people, the mom and dads, children, ministers, governments, news agencies, and much more ....., all due to technology.
Just think back to 1996, it wasn't all that long ago, there were no blogs, no message boards and certainly no twitter accounts. Most of us probably had limited (if any) access to the internet. We weren't checking our cell phones for updates on Twitter. And we actually had to wait to find out information until the next day when it was printed in the paper. All information came from either of the two local newspapers or the local radio stations.
I think I see the good in the future of technology and understand how capable it could be, if only we would understand how it is a tool to make our business world a better place.
I have kept actively involved in internet since the development of the packet switching model at the laboratories of Stanford University. I have had internet access since before Prodigy internet at Sears.
My company does not look at the internet and the web as something we need to get ready for, we look at as our DNA.
The internet is not something we do, it is our life.
